The Washington County Board of Supervisors voted late last week to authorize exceeding the state’s 2026 tax cap increase of 2.59%. The Washington County 2026 budget has not been finalized at this time.
The Town of Dresden Town Board is likewise expected to hold a vote on exceeding the tax cap also. The town’s budget at this time has also not been finalized.
