Click on the &#8220;full size&#8221; link below the picture.  This is truly remarkable.  The suffering that he had to deal with is fully evident in his eyes and he certainly looks tired.  It&#8217;s also interesting because people think of him as dark-skinned, and thus dark-eyed.  His contemporaries, however, always remarked upon his &#8220;grey&#8221; eyes.  You can clearly see that in this picture.  Fascinating.
