So a pair of underwear was flushed into the system.<\/p>\n<p>This occurred in April. Also discovered in one of the pump stations &#8211; feminine hygiene products, \u201cflushable\u201d wipes, garbage disposal debris, cooking oil and grease. The reason why cooking oil and grease are so problematic is that it floats and covers the switch that turns on the pump when the waste water level rises.
